‘Gur’ means Guru and ‘Bani’ means speech. Therefore, Gurbani means the speech of the Guru. The Sikh Gurus wrote their teachings in the Sikh scripture, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. This compilation of writing is called Gurbani.

Hemkund Sahib is a Sikh place of worship(Gurudwara) situated 15,000 feet above the sea level in the Himalayan range of Uttarakhand, India. It is named Hem (“Snow”) Kund (“bowl”) because the mesmerizing structure is a set over a glacial lake surrounded by seven mountain peaks. The Dasam Granth says God ordered Sikh Guru Gobind Singh(1666–1708) to take birth while he was in deep meditation at the Mount of Hemkunt. It is a famous center of pilgrimage for not just Sikhs but thousands of devotees of all religions.
